The Seedling
Plant a seed and it will grow! The Seedling is a modern groveler… this pudgy little dude is full of nutrients and flourishing in the warmth of the sun. The concept behind the design is simple, I took my favorite short board and shrunk it down from its normal length by 3″ in the process you can imagine the board loses quite a bit of volume, so the idea is to carefully build that volume back into the board.
The Seedling features low entry rocker blending into a mellow single concave that flows off a moderate tail rocker. Again, much like the Flavor 59, I’ve pushed foam forward in the foil creating a more balanced thickness flow. I’ve stuffed as much width into the outline as possible while still maintaining a short board look, and I’ve also flattened the deck, and puffed up the rails.
It takes some thinking to build all that volume from the original board back into such a small package, but the end result is a bountiful harvest of fun… a new age grovel board that works great in the tiny stuff, and can also easily handle head high+ surf!
